The OCFA continues to be the state’s premier leader in education of the installment lending industry, not only for our members and their employees, but for the public as well. We continue to provide support and promote consumer educational programs, to emphasize the proper use of credit and to create a better public awareness of our industry.
How do we achieve this goal?
We employ legal counsel for the Association who is knowledgeable about the Dodd-Frank Act, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and state regulators to keep our members abreast of ever-changing federal and state legal issues. We also employ a full-time lobbyist to represent the interests of the OCFA before the state legislature.
The OCFA also holds an annual conference each year with informative meetings, continuing education, legal updates, exhibits, recreational activities and ample time for visiting with fellow members and conference sponsors. We feel that communication among our members is beneficial to all of us. The OCFA is also an affiliate member of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) as well as the National Installment Lenders Association (NILA) which enables us to keep our members informed of laws, regulations and other issues occurring throughout the country that are relevant to our members.
